Borte, though young and naive, accepted her fate. Together, they returned to the Valley of the Elders, where the spirits of the ancestors watched over them. As the time of darkness approached, Chinggis and Borte prepared to perform the ritual, their hearts pounding with the weight of the future.

At the moment of the greatest darkness, Chinggis and Borte stood before the ancient scroll.
